California

The California Chapter was founded in 2011 when the California members from the Southwest Chapter split and formed their own chapter. The separation from the Southwest Chapter allowed the newly formed Chapter leadership to focus on serving the membership in California better and to hold local and regional events in California. Our vision is to become the preeminent building commissioning organization in California and enrich the proficiency and practice of members of the Building Commissioning Association and the public. The mission is to improve and further the practice of building commissioning, and through its professional development programs, marketing efforts, by advocating the BCxA best practices, and the creation of economic and business conditions for building commissioning.

Learning Objectives:
Session participants will be able to…
• Outline the building commissioning activities required by Title 24 and describe how these
activities are to be documented.
• Recognize the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders in the design, construction,
acceptance, and commissioning process.
• Determine the required the acceptance testing requirements for new-construction, nonresidential projects.
• Explain how Acceptance Test Technicians are trained and certified to perform the acceptance
tests defined in Title 24.
