The U.S. Labor Energy Partnership (LEP) is a shared commitment of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the Energy Futures Initiative to promote federal, regional, and state energy policies that address the climate crisis. A pre-publication draft of their policy, embargoed until 10 A.M. EDT on June 30, 2021, “Building to Net-Zero: A U.S. Policy Blueprint for Gigaton-Scale CO2 Transport and Storage Infrastructure,” is now available.

The report focuses on initiatives intended to define a national strategy, expand policy support, improve the regulatory environment, and create a workforce transition (to a low-carbon economy) and community development strategy.
