The Building Commissioning Association (BCxA) President’s Award is given to members who have made a significant contribution to the Association through participation on committees, chapter boards, the international board, or other activities.

This year’s recipient has been a member since 2010.  Since its inception, Kevin Thurston has been active in the Western Canadian Chapter. In addition, Kevin has served on the Building Commissioning Certification Board for 4 years, one as the President and currently as the Treasurer.  Recently Kevin has been named the Chair of the Membership Committee.

Kevin is a licensed engineer in Canada, a Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), and a Certified Commissioning Firm (CCF).  He has a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Science, Oceanography and Underwater Acoustics from the Royal Roads Military College.  He lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with his wife and daughter.  His daughter is following in his footsteps and is now studying engineering.  Kevin is an avid golfer, never missing a BCxA Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament, and a collector of Starbucks coffee mugs and tickets to all the NFL stadiums.
