We are excited to announce the Call for Abstracts is now open for the BCxA Annual Conference. The Annual Conference is a cornerstone of our Association and a valuable educational opportunity for the industry.  We are looking for engaging formats in this year’s presentations so consider a case study, panel discussion, or presentation with an owner.  We are asking all presenters to be in person in Las Vegas.    

Topic ideas we encourage you to consider:

Hot Topics:

  • Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS)
  • Calculating energy usage and potential savings
  • Buildings connected to district energy systems
  • Ceiling fans: energy savers or albatross
  • Ventilation and ASHRAE 62.1 compliance in the age of Covid
  • Optimize and commission ASHRAE 36 HVAC sequences
  • Novel commissioning techniques, emerging technologies, and new tools
  • Persistence in building performance and energy savings

Existing building commissioning (EBCx) topics:

  • Data-driven commissioning
  • Working with fault detection and diagnostic tools
  • Commissioning building electrification conversions
  • Meeting energy, emissions, or other sustainability targets
  • Functionally testing active systems

Controls essentials topics:

  • Networks 101
  • Control systems 101
  • Sequence Of Operations review
  • Controls submittal review
  • Loop tuning
  • Control system cybersecurity
  • Network architecture and integration

If you have a unique and appealing presentation topic idea that is not aligned with the above list of suggested topics, submit it to us for review. We are always looking for engaging presentations that benefit our members and conference attendees. 

Speaker Expectations:

  • March 13. All abstracts must be submitted to BCxA for review.
  • April 10. All those who submitted an abstract will be notified.
  • May 1. Review meeting with BCxA Staff, Session Moderator, and Conference Track Lead
  • Aug 28. Draft presentation sent to your Track Lead
  • September 18. Final presentation due to BCxA. 
  • October 2-4, 2024. Present at the Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on your session date.

The completion of your abstract form and speaker agreement may affect your selection eligibility. Please complete all sections to your fullest knowledge before submission.  Send completed abstracts to Liz Fischer
