We are currently seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to join our team as a member of our growing High-Performance Buildings Team. At McKinstry, Commissioning has emerged as an essential part of project delivery and a preferred method for ensuring that building systems are installed and operated to provide maximum performance. Our suite of owner-direct offerings helps our clients make decisions that will improve efficiency, lower operating costs, and perform at maximum comfort, and increase the lifespan of a building.
In this role you will lead the Mountain Region Commissioning team in three key areas:
Project and Business Development:
You will support project development by implementing and managing new construction commissioning procedures and assisting with project issue resolution. With the support of the Commissioning team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for McKinstry’s Business Development team for all commissioning-related sales pursuits, leading the technical response and budget development for new opportunities.
We will look to you to build, establish, and manage meaningful client relationships, providing a single point of contact for clients regarding commissioning project timelines for key/strategic accounts.
You will manage and mentor the Mountain Region Commissioning team consisting of 4 high-performing engineering professionals, supporting hiring efforts, developing project staffing plans, and directing the development and implementation of training programs.
What we would like to see from you:
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- Knowledge and proficiency in BCA, ACG, NEBB, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures preferred
- Proficient in Communication/Teaming/Internal and External Interactions.
- Proficient in project management/people leadership/sales acumen.
- Technical Degree (desired), Engineering Degree (desired), or equivalent work experience.
- BCA CCP or ACG CxA registration strongly preferred.
- LEED AP, CEM professional designations are preferred.
- Knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems, BAS systems, energy analysis, and performance contracting preferred.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $84,060 - $136,980 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location.
